Marsha's Lasagne Sauce

garlic powder or minced garlic
2 bay leaves
1 tsp oregano
1 large green pepper chopped in small pcs
1 onion chopped in small pcs
salt and pepper to taste
1 large can of tomato puree
2 cans (family size) tomato paste
1-1/2 lbs of ground beef
  1. Brown ground beef, drain, set aside.
  2. Retain some of the liquid fat from meat and saute the following:
  3. Let everything simmer on low-medium heat; stir as needed.
  4. Cook 7 hours low heat in slow cooker or 3 hours on high setting (easier method).
  5. On stove, simmer for 3 hours. Avoid letting it boil or stick to bottom; stir frequently.

(1) Beef contains vitamins A, B, C, B2, iron, copper, and phosphorus.

(2) Tomatoes (raw or canned) contain vitamins A, B, C, B2 and phosphorus.(25 calories in 1/2 cup)
(3) Cottage cheese contains vitamins A and B2, calcium and phosphorus. (100 calories in 5 Tbsp)
(4) Peppers contain vitamins A, B, C. (5 calories in 1/4 pepper)
(5) Onions cooked contain some A, B, C (some lost in cooking), and B2 vitamins. (20 calories for 1/4 cup)
(6) Pasta contains vitamins A and C. (75 calories for 1 piece)
