Ingredients: DB got this from his secretary, Heather Mathre, in Texas. She had made it for her husband's birthday and brought it in to work.
  • Cake:
1 package (Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe) Strawberry Cake Mix
2 (10 ounce) packages sweetened, frozen sliced strawberries, thawed
  • Topping:
1 package (4-serving size or 3.4 oz) vanilla "instant" pudding
1 cup milk
2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed (Cool Whip 8 oz)
fresh strawberries, optional garnish
Directions:
  • For Cake:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease and flour 13 x 9 inch pan
  3. Prepare cake using package instructions; cool.
  4. Poke holes 1 inch apart in top of cake using wooden spoon handle.
  5. Puree thawed strawberries with juice in blender.
  6. Spoon evenly over top of cake allowing mixture to soak into holes.
  • For Topping:
  1. Prepare pudding mix package directions "except" use only 1 cup milk.
  2. Fold whipped topping into pudding mixture.
  3. Spread over cake.
  4. Garnish w/fresh strawberries
