Ingredients:

1 (4 lb) beef brisket
-
1/2 tsp pepper
-
1 cup sliced onion, separated into rings
-
1/2 cup chili sauce
-
3 tbsp brown sugar
-
2 cloves garlic, crushed
-
1 (12 oz) bottle beer
-
2-1/2 tbsp all purpose flour
-
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp water
-
Black pepper (optional)
-
Halved tomato slices (optional)
-
Fresh parsley sprigs (optional)
Directions:

Trim fat from brisket.
-
Place in a 13x9x2 inch baking dish.

Sprinkle top of brisket with pepper; arrange onion rings.

Combine chili sauce, brown sugar, garlic and beer; pour over brisket.

Cover and bake 3 hours.
-
Uncover and bake additional 20 minutes 'til tender.
-
Place brisket on serving platter, reserve cooking liquid.

Set brisket aside; keeping warm.
